Bronze metal exterior door by the sea
The brief for this project was to create a distinctive, landmark property, maximising the views across the Thames Estuary while creating a balance between a large imposing frontage and a traditional but eclectic streetscape.
The architect envisioned a signature entrance made up of landscaping, grand steps, a covered porch, a large door, and a screen. Everything was planned to be oversized to create the desired effect and Urban Front’s Bronze 101 metallic door was vital to this.
Despite several unforeseeable delays and complications during construction, the finished build successfully came together, with the unique design respecting its neighbours while addressing the seaside position that makes the most of the fabulous views to the Estuary.

[The door] looks excellent and we receive many positive reviews of this and the entire frontage. The entrance needed a door that is different and spectacular and it certainly achieves this. Tim Knight, Knight Gratrix Architects
This beautiful house by Jane Duncan Architects is a great example of how to feature a metallic liquid copper door into a classic contemporary theme. The off-white render, beige stone and light grey windows all blend well to feature and frame the copper detail of the door. What isn’t obvious at first glance is the size of this door, at 1500 x 3000mm, it creates an impressive entrance and draws the eye to the centre of the building.

As beautiful hallways go this definitely fits the bill. From the impressive sweeping staircase by BISCA to the lighting and flooring, all the details come together to complement the front door.
Designed by Richard Grafton Interiors, the house features our vintage bronze door Ref: 111 with a painted RAL frame and clear sidelite. Even the solid bronze door pull handle matches the staircase.
Externally, the door sits under a curved window in the galleried hall and works well with the stone and traditional feel.

This contemporary house needed something special to bring together the different materials on the front elevation. Anthracite grey aluminium windows and trims with cream render and coppery cladding are all brought together with a bronze snakeskin finish doorset.
Urban Front's Raw e80 pivot doorset is finished in our textured bronze (ref 101) and features a harmonious bronze finished long pull handle. The door is set in a glass sidelite with the frame painted in a RAL anthracite grey while the internal hallway wall is also finished in a polished concrete to mirror the door.

Creating a show stopper isn't easy, but the designer of this house certainly struck 'bronze' with this one. Teaming the door with the grey stone wall and framing it in a dark grey and bronze frame helped increase the impact.
